What is The PAL Program?
PHP’s PAL Program is a new and natural way to support members of PHP. The PAL Program links people who have similar interests in the community to members of PHP. Friendships are important in the life of any individual, and the PAL Program is determined to improve the lives of members by linking passions and interests to form a connection.
We have also added a new program within The PAL Program called PAL Social! This is a way for members involved with PHP to meet each other and participate in fun activities together once a month. These events will be listed every month on this calendar. If you would like to be included on the email list for the calendar, please email email@example.com.
How does it work?
Once the Care Coordinator or Care Manager reaches out to the PAL Program Coordinator about a member who has a specific interest in an activity that he or she has not been able to explore, a meeting is arranged in order to get to know the member.
The PAL Program Coordinator then reaches out to the community around the members to find the right place for them to explore their interests where they can feel completely comfortable. Once the link of passions and interests are made, friendships begin to develop between the people in that environment and the members.
What is the goal?
Our goal is to enrich everyday life for the member by sharing experiences and interests with someone who enjoys similar activities. The member is introduced to a new world and gets to experience friendship by sharing their interests with someone in the community.
How can you help?
The PAL Program consists of people in the community who develop connections with the member that grows naturally over time.
We encourage all people in the community to be a part of The PAL Program. If you would like to make a connection and reside in the Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Rockland, Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester counties, we would love to hear from you!
